December 7, 1941 is a day America, but particularly Hawaii, will never forget. The World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument’s Memorial helps honor the men and women who served in World War II. The national monument is home to the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, the USS Arizona Memorial and the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park. A tour of the USS Arizona Memorial begins with a 23-minute historical film. Then go aboard a U.S. Navy passenger ferry boat which takes visitors to the battleship memorial built over the remains of the battleship in which 1,177 crewmen perished off the coast of Ford Island.
May their souls rest in peace.
